Robert's aka Habu nice looking Malibu Kayaks eXtreme model of kayak ready to fish out of Cabrillo Beach,CA. You can notice the rudder this kayak has, which can really help if there is a strong a cross wind blowing. Most kayaks will tend to "Weathercock" towards the direction the wind is blowing from, but a rudder can help you maintain a straight course in this condition. You can also see Robert has installed a fish finder to help while angling, and a compass to help guide the way.

In the above photo, you can see Robert has added some good accessories for his fishing kayak. The kayak cart is a good model to use on hard surfaces, as the wheels are not too narrow. The rudder is a good accessory for a fishing kayak in that all kayaks have a tendency to "Weather-cock" or turn towards an oncoming wind. Rudders can be used to help you paddle in a straight line instead of having to fight the wind so much. The yellow color is easily seen while on the water compared to say a white or dark green. It is a definite safety consideration.

Here you get a good view of the seating area. There is a hatch right in front of the paddlers seat on the kayak, one directly behind the paddler, and an ample tankwell in back of that one. You can see why this model is so popular for kayak fishing with all the deck mounting options and storage area.

In this photo of this rigged fishing kayak, you can see close-ups of the compass and fish finder. Most of us use simple fish finders on our kayaks and a compass if we paddle in the early morning hours when it is foggy, or in unknown areas.
