Re: Friday Night Bassin'
Hank,
Have fun out there I'm heading down to San Diego this weekend or else I would be seeing you there for some bass fishing with friends. I'll post up how we do Saturday. Hopefully, we'll get a fish or two, maybe three if we're lucky... Perry

Re: Friday Night Bassin'
Joe and I arrived at Coast Guard's Beach around 5:30. Conditions were mild but we knew as the evening progressed they would change and not likely in our favor. We still launched and headed straight for the moored boats across form the Coast Guard Station. We went through a 2 hour stretch with not as much as a nibble. The weather then took the expected turn. The winds kicked up along with the current. We toughed it out and continued to fish. We managed to land a few Spotties for our troubles. Conditions didn't seem to lessen so we called it a night and headed back. Looks like we'll stick with morning launches and keep an eye on favorable weather conditions for evening launches. On the positive side, it was good to finally get the line went and knock off the dust from the yak. See you on the water!
Don't forget the wives and moms on Mother's Day!!! Hank

Re: Friday Night Bassin'
I took the grandkids to baby beach in afternoon and got literally blown away. I gave up any plans of going out later in the afternoon as it did not look to be lessening. Waiting on a new cable for my fish finder anyway.

Re: Friday Night Bassin'
Hank,
It was nice to get out today in the early am. I went down to SD and fished with Robert. The morning was tough, and when we found them in the afternoon, the wind and current was so bad you cast out, then made course corrections as not to hit a boat, then crank in half the line, than make more corrections, then reel in the rest of the line. I can't even tell you how many sailboats and powerboats we dodged today. It was crazy out there when the wind picked up. Perry

Re: Friday Night Bassin'
Sometimes Mother Nature shows us who's really in charge here. I guess it comes with the territory. You'll have your good days and bad. As long as you come home unscathed and back to your family to fish another day, it's all good. Shouldn't be long now before we're posting some good weather and awesome fish counts. BTW, I turned in my little car and picked up an '07 Nissan XTerra.
Nice rack for the yak! See you on the water! Hank
