X Factor center hatch leak
This is my first kayak, and I'm sure impressed with this model. |

Re: X Factor center hatch leak
Hello, and to the boards.
If there is some standing water on the hatch it may leak around the hatch lid/frame meeting surface or where the toggle hardware goes through the hatch itself. If it leaks where the the hatch frame rests on the deck surface, the frame may need to be removed and resealed, or it may be warped a bit. I'm not sure where you're located or whom you purchased it from, but I was at OEX in Seal Beach today talking with Andy who runs the store now, and I'm sure if you called or ran it over there and let him look at it he would treat you right. Hope this helps, Perry

Re: X Factor center hatch leak
I had the same problem. What happened with me is the area around the deck was warped like Perry suggested. I leaked a lot of water! definitely go back where you bought it from and look at the warranty posted on the Malibu Kayak website in fact print it out and bring it with you.

Re: X Factor center hatch leak
Well that's sad news, is there any way those leaks can be fixed. Or if the leaks appears the kayaks are useless.... ?
