Looking at it from Google it looks like there's a launch ramp. I would be interested in checking that place out.

i know this is an old post, but i went there and checked it out there is a ramp but it dosent go all the way to the water and the beach is rocky (small rocks with larger ones on each side) . its doable if you have surf launching experience and i dont.

Thanks for the update. I would love to find a launch somewhere close to the Point Loma Kelp, I would love to hit La Jolla, but I have had more fun with the Point Loma Kelp.

There are stairs down to the beach and an easy launch right in front. For most swell directions the rocks kind of make a natural bay inside right in front of the stairs. Not really a surf launch unless there's a bit of swell & the waves are breaking outside of the rocks.

I might have to check this out to see what the parking is like in the area. That would be a nice to have another launch option.

Isn't it amazing what we can see and do on the internet. I feel bad for the old folks that never had this resource to use.
Parking isn't too bad even on the weekends there. Summer gets a bit crazy if you don't get down there by mid morning.
