Default KayakJak...Any bass there?

KayakJak,
I noticed the photo you posted in the photopost. That small area looks like a prime spot for some bass to lay in them reeds. You ever get any there?? Hows the guiding business treating you??

Thumbs up Re: KayakJak...Any bass there?

You bet. This area is just chock full of bass. The area you see is a little spring fed channel about 8-10 feet wide and 6-8 feet deep and crystal clear. The Bass will sit in the reeds facing the water and when a good meal comes swimming or floating by they go out and get it. Sometimes just before sundown we fish that channel topwater and it gets pretty exciting. This lake was renovated just 2 1/2 years ago and the fish are already getting huge. Most of the bass we catch have one or two crawdads in them from their most recent meal. You can see the antenae and feel the clump in their stomach. The cat in the picture was swimming up and down the channel with others before I caught him yesterday. The Bluegill and Red Ear are already just about Master Angler size (10 inches). The guiding is going great! We have 38 trips booked this summer with more looking for dates. If you or anyone else is ever interested it would be well worth the trip. We caught 175 fish yesterday between the two of us. We offer all equipment as well which is ultra-light and fun to fish with. There are some very large bass in the lake. Several adults that were planted two years ago are in the 5 pound + range already as well. We are going again today with a reporter from an area newspaper. You can see more at my website http://www.kayakjak.com/fishing

Thanks for the comment.

Here is a nice bass of a recent client caught just at the mouth of the channel along the weed beds.
