Re: cameras??
olympus makes a good water proof camera, like $120, good to 10ft, 10 mp i think. you can get the tripod mount and then fabricate that onto a extended scotty rod holder, there are pictures of one in the rigging photos somwhere.

Re: cameras??
Have you checked out helmet cams? 30fps and really cheap, lets your family join in the fun! Makes for an easy setup, but I've seen them rigged on poles strung out from a rear rod holder which gets YOU in the frame too. Dunno whether I'd fancy reaching round for the start button with a lunker on though...

Re: cameras??
I have an Olympus 1050. Is been dropped on pavement, soaked in the foot wells and generally abused. Its been great.

Re: cameras??
I've been using the Olympus 770sw and it works great. It sits in the pocket of my lifevest and takes a pretty good beating in there without any problems yet.
I have been looking at the GoPro Hero camera above, its looking better and better adn has a bunch of mounting ideas. Works as both a still digital camera and a video w/ a variety of lens options. KirkG. |
