Our customers do very well with the Eagle Cuda 300 or 350 w/gps.
300's run 189 installed and 350's are 285 installed. What is your Sonar experience? What have you used? I highly suggest sticking with Eagle/ Lowrance as they make 100% sealed units that last much longer on the kayak than other brands.

Hey spence, which ever one you get, just make sure it's a sealed unit. It is going to get wet so you want one that is waterproof. Good luck.
