Default Nu-canoe Frontier

OK so I think I've decided on a Nu-canoe Frontier 12. Do you guys think rowing is an option? I figure I can stand up paddle with an oar as well as a paddle. The oars are 7'. Rowing would work on lakes and rivers. Is paddling a better option for flats and surf? Any thoughts are appreiciated.

Where are you located and how much surf do you think you will be doing? this will determine opinions on how this boat may work for you.

What has you on a NuCanoe over a standard kayak or something that is a hybrid like the Commander?
