Question Kayak height in water

I weigh 280 and just got a Tarpon 140. I seem to ride lower in the water than my wifes Tarpon 120 (yea, like I weigh 130 pounds more!). The water line seems to be right along that hull line. I dont get much water in the front section, but the back storage area gets about an inch. Is this kayak ok for my weight? I am a newbe so I hope I chose well.

I weight 250 and with all my fishing equipment more. I paddle the 140 some and find it a very comfortable and safe kayak. The kayak is rated for more weight than that so I would not worry.

Lightweights! I'm over 300, just remember not to leave your sandwiches in the rear storage bin!
You can always fit stoppers....
