Default Hobie Adventure Island Fishing?

Hi Fellow Yakers,

I'm new to the forum and kayak fishing, so I need some help from experienced Yak Fishing folks!! I am leaning toward purchasing a Hobie Mirage Pro Angler, but stumbled across a "good" deal on a Hobie Adventure Island (single, not tandem). The Pro Angler provides excellent fishing capabilities - no doubt! However, the AI provides a good Sailing Option plus, Fishing. Has anyone fished from an AI, and if so, what do you think about it? Thanks!!

Default Re: Hobie Adventure Island Fishing?

My first Hobie was the Adventure (sans the sailing package). I loved it. It was a fast, sleek kayak and I did a lot of long trips on it. Very good fishing kayak, although it is a little "wet". It's the polar opposite of the Pro Angler. It was a great kayak for a tall guy like me.

I switched to the Revo to save space in my garage and to get a slightly drier ride. I kind of miss the longer Adventure but the Revo is much more practical. I pedaled the Pro Angler once, it is basically a boat as much as a kayak. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head that has owned both however, hopefully someone will chime in who's owned 'em both.

I know there are few guys on the Hobie forums that fish from the AI, you may look for help there too.
