places to fish in carlsbad ca

hi , i am new here, i just purchased a 2 man kayak for me and my chick to go fishing on , i live in carlsbad ca just off of tamarack. i would like to know where the spots are to go fish locally and where i can launch the kayak easily, perhaps catch a few sand bass. my chick is not a strong paddler so i dont fancy going miles out to sea to find kelp paddies.
