Kayaking Long Beach Thursday evening
Andy Darrin and I headed from Sunset to Long Beach a little after 6 the wind was blowing when we left. While we unloaded at Claremont the wind died and our excitement of finally making an evening trip to the wall rose. As we paddled out to Chaffee Island the wind started up so we fished the north kind of protected side of the Island. Ron joined us shortly later and Aaron and Clay stopped by in Clay’s skiff to say hi. We dodged crew boats and a tug and barge to pick on the calico and sand bass and a barracuda. My bass came from in tight and behind the Crew Boat dock losing a number to the rocks and pilings all on the Fluke covered in Uni Butter. We headed in about 10:30. I have been trying out the Eagle 350 so on the way in I brought up the track pointed the arrow at the point of origin on the beach and followed it in. After landing started rolling the kayak up toward the turnaround and found I was in the tracks from our roll to the water very impressive. Great evening with a great group :gone: :gone: :gone:
