Hello everyone! I've been wanting to get into 'yak fishing for a few years now and it looks like it's gonna finally happen. I've had exp 'yakking baits our for surf sharking and other small trips but alwasy in a friends kayak. Looks like I found a good deal on a yak. Need your advice on the year and model. I know it's a hobie and I think it's a mirage w/o the drive system.

1. I can just buy the drive system later if I want right?
2. Good 'yak for overall use in rivers, bay and surf
3. apprx. year and model....I don't have access to hull id #

Welcome to the site.
You can buy the mirage drive from any Hobie dealer. Sometimes you can even find them in the classified adds or even on ebay.
You can tell if it uses the mirage drive if it has the opening in the bottom of the kayak by where your feet would be if you were sitting in it. Hope that helped.
