Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Perry,
I have that entire week off. Let's hit the Vine if it's looking good or a bit of Cali fishing off the coast. Ed

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Spoke with a friend of mine. It looks like Newport's Coast Guard Beach for a few of hours on Thanksgiving morning. Come join us! See you on the water!

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Where do you launch at Irvine? Any fees? What time will you get there?
Have you tried the flies from the yak? |

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Cashe,
I figure we'll be launching around 6:30a.m. Most fishing will be primarily from the Coast Guard Station to the Bait Barge. Possibly paddling out into open water for a short time. I don't see us staying more than 3 hours or so. Hopefully you can make it out with us. Just look for the green pontoon kayak and that'll be me. Hank

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Pontoon Kayak? What's that? Or is it a float tube?

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
No. It's a kayak. Aussie Kiwi Angler. Here's a pic. Not the best shot but it's all I have.
Here's a pic from the net. Hank

Re: Thanksgiving Fishing
Seaslug,
I usually launch below where the camping is when I hit Irvine Lake. I know the water level is down and I haven't been there yet this year, so I'll have to play it by ear until I see it. The fees are $20 to get in, plus an additional $5 to launch a float tube or kayak. They have a pretty decent website with the info on it at http://www.irvinelake.net Hope this helps, Perry
