Late MDR - SWBA Tourney Report
Our expectations were very low going into this as neither one of us had fished out of MDR and pre-fishing reports were all stating lots of small bass in deeper water (60-120 ft), not my style of fishing. We received a hot tip from one of our friends right before the start and moved up the line to fish in tight by Malibu. We found a nice set of shallow rocks with kelp and decided to start there and wait to see if Pamela Anderson would come running down the beach Lee hung a nice 3.3 calico on our 2nd drift thru the kelp and we ended up staying in that area all day. Ended up with a 11.5lb 5 fish limit which put us at 25th place out of 61 teams. Not too bad considering we beat out many teams that had been pre-fishing the area for the past 2 months! These were 2 of the better fish right before they were released I also caught a "just short" WSB and lost a 20lb+ WSB that bit thru 15lb just below the boat. I alos decided to trade in my boat and put a down payment on a new rig we saw sitting in the harbor. The trolling motor should be mounted by this weekend and then Perry we'll be fishing the Wall in style Winning limit was over 20lbs (the talent in this series just blows me away)with most other teams 15lbs or less. Good times, on to PV in August! Ed

Re: Late MDR - SWBA Tourney Report
Some folks just have too much money. The helicopter looks cool, but where is the Ranger 1850 Reata boat?
