Fishing on Fri the 15th

A friend and I will be hitting the kelp bed on Friday the 15th in the AM before the winds start. We will launch in Newport harbor and make are way to the nearest kelp bed. This will be my friends first time out of the harbor and we want to make it a pleasant and low key as possible. Everyone is welcome especially the newbies

How far is it out to the kelp bed? I have not gone outside at Newport before. I am still a little weak from a recent surgery but I would like to tag along in the future. That may even make a decent dive spot.

the first and easiest is about 1/2 from the mouth of the bay toward Laguna the next is crystal cove

If you fell up to it let me know we will be back in the bay at about 11:00 DUE TO THE WIND

Thanks for the invite it looks like that will be the plan.I have a friend that wants to go out at night also on Friday. Ive never been to the NAC if you have any directions that would be appreciated

PCH to Dover, NE on Dover to split, keep right for short block, follow sign to right to stop, right and around left down hill then follow road left and you will see the entrance less than quarter mile.
