6 Irishmen were playing poker when Murphy lost $500 in a single hand,
clutches his chest and drops dead at the table. Showing respect for the
fallen, the 5 continue playing standing up.

O'Connor looks around and says, "Oh boys, someone's gotta tell Paddy's
wife! Who'll it be?"

They draw straws. Gallagher picks the short one. They tell him to be
discreet, gentle and not to make a bad situation worse.

"Discreet? I'm the most discreet Irishmen ye'll ever meet.Discretion's
me middle name. Leave it to me."

He goes to Murphy's house and knocks on the door. Mrs. Murphy answers and
asks what he wants.

Gallagher says, "Ye'r husband just lost $500 in our poker game and is
afraid to come home."

"Tell him to drop dead!" says Murphy's wife.

"I'll go tell him" says Gallagher
