How do I add acceories to my kayak

I just got an Ocean Kayak Scrambler and I want to add a few thing things to the outside of the boat. My question is is there a special tool that I need.? Or do I just drill into the boat? Should I buy a rivet gun? How will I prevent any
leaks? Any advive would be great thanks
