Congrats on the kayak. I currently use one of the Eagle FishEasy 2 fishfinders, and really like it. It's not a top of the line model, but it has lasted for a few seasons and still works well. I'm just using it to see what the bottom ie structure there may be and bait schools, so I don't need one of the real fancy color ones.

For bait tanks, if I were going to buy one it would be one of the bait tanks made by liquid fishing. On the other hand, if I was going to make one out of a cooler or 5 gallon bucket which is easy to do, then I would go that route and add additional rod holders etc as needed and have a home-brewed job.
I guess the question is do you want to build one yourself, or just spend the cash and buy one ready to go? If you want to make one, there's plenty of examples in our rigging section here on the website. TC&TL,
