2-Dayer at Da Vine
Reports of previous years trips accounted for very few fish caught, so an overnight campout at "The Vine" was in order. Ended up taking 27 scouts and 8 adults on the trip. Plan was to find a shore area with no one else around and then shuttle 6-8 kids at a time in the pontoon boat for 1 hour shifts. After 2 days of fishing all but 3 kids had caught fish and we even landed a few nice bass in the 3lb range, 2-3lb trout plus a mix of bluegills and crappie. We had many kids that had never caught fish before and were way too exicted after landing a fish!! Very cool to see. A few of the kids were pretty hot sticks too. The highlight of the trip (for me) was when the older scouts started calling my son "Yoda" and seeking advice from him as he proceeded to outfish everyone. Here are a few pics of the weekends catches: Time to quit my day job and guide as a living... Ed |

Nice photos. Reminds me of my son's expression when he caught his first fish. I think you may find yourself "nominated" next year!
