Kayak angling in Ventura, Oxnard, Santa Barbara

I've been surf fly-fishing for the past six months and am tired of catching little perch. I just sold a motorcycle and now have some funds for a kayak. Everything I read about areas like La Jolla talks about great fishing. Question is... is there any decent fishing up north in Ventura County where I live?

Any feedback from people who have been up there on a kayak would be appreciated.
