What # leader to safely yak fish in ocean??
My NuCanoe is very wide and stable and my buddy's yak is a little more narrow. We'll be fishing lings and rockfish, nearshore. AND, we'll be hooking up the bottom and some kelp, of course. What pound leaders should we be using to catch these critters and reduce the chance of flipping, and yet, not lose many fish? Thanks! |

I don’t know what kind of fish you are targeting or what kind of gear you are using, but 15# is very light especially if there is any chance of structure or having to pull fish out of kelp. Just my 2c.

According to my Experience, 15# is enough for fishing. Yes it feels light though. But I'm used to it now.
