Wd40 works good. Commonly used in the south in fresh water.

Different world, Texas Gulf coast and we don't have all the options. Here Gulp works great, just match the hook size to the bait and fish like any other plastic. As for which one to choose, it seems like the same rules apply as selecting plastics.

Thanks for the omega 3 tip. A new weapon in my assonal.

Like the 4" new penny shrimp and the 4" smelt very much in the Gulp. Down in bahia de Los Angeles a while ago I was using old, stale pieces of Gulp which had been fished many times and the fish ate it all - did not matter what color or how old.

Believe it or not, when fishing Calicos, I have been putting " Nitro" brand
trout scent on my hands before handling anything at all including line and hooks, and the bait catches the scent of my hands and I have had excellent success.

Up here on the central coast we have found Gravy in squid to really work well.

Was doing well with Gulp but lately shrimp, smelt, and squid have had zero response. Of course, ProCure squid and sardine are not doing anything either.

Back to live sardines and fresh-dead, filleted sardines.

Purchased my first bag of Gulp (Shrimp) at the new Bass Pro Shop yesterday. Outdoorsman's heaven there!!! Can't wait to try it out. I'll post results.
