Default Care of fresh caught salmon?

This year I'm going to have big problems: fresh caught salmon in the net.

Now what?

How do I care for these fish so they get home in the best eating shape?

Thanks.

Cut the gills to bleed - keep cool and damp. We always carry a long cooler and half fill with seawater when we are on a boat. Next best would be wet gunnysack.
