Question want to fix up my xf

I just bought a Naviagtor XF and Im wanting to fix it up so I wont be fumbling around out on the water. What is the best way to set up a Cobra Kayak? Any Ideas on how to make this a smooth yak?

Default Re: want to fix up my xf

The xf is far more friendly to rig than the regular navigator like I had years ago. Much more flat area to mount misc items.

My suggestion is paddle it a few times to decide what you want to mount there. I always recommend at least the 2 flushmounts behind the seat and then Ram or Scotty up front. Or Flush mounts with Scotty gimble adapters for when your fishing freshwater with bait or sand bass and such. These hold rods in a better position for a lot of applications.

A few suggestions for very adjsutable rod holders that I recomend:

Ram Revolution

Scotty Powerlock

Scotty Gimble Adapter

Question Re: want to fix up my xf

Thank you for the info. The xf already has 4 flush mounted rod holders. What can I do, for intance the rear of the boat? Is the crate mate jr any good or is there an easier way to get more holders in the rear?
Thanks

Cratemate is the easiest and probably best way to do it.

Question Re: want to fix up my xf

So I bought a Crate Mate Jr and low and behold it does not fit the Cobra Navigator XF. What the crap? I am a bit upset about this whole issue. Any other ideas that would fit. I guess I could return it or just use it as a surf fishing bag, its got the rod holders to carry everything at once (trying to think positive). Any ideas, i need them?
Thanks,
Mike

Oh man, forgot that Cobra had funky tank wells. If you want to try it you can cut the back corners of the crate to fit. I did this on my Explorer and Navigator but I did not have a Crate mate. Shouldn't cause any problems if you cut the crate, just don't cut the bag.

me too...the XF I got from a guy on another forum was pretty much equipped the way I want it. Also see my post concerning crate where there are some great ideas for DIY.
