Default how far out do you go on your yak?

hey guyz, i'm just looking into yak fishing and was wondering how far out to sea would you go on one. i've read a few stories of people being 3 and 5 miles offshore. is that normal? do people go even further? i saw a yt video the other day of a guy that got pulled 11 miles by a marlin, i'm not sure if that was out to sea or parallel to the coast or what, the video only showed the best clips. so what are you guys usual experiences and what is safe?

I would say I go maybe two give or take no further, lets say something was to happen while out there on a yak paddle or peddle thats far and make sure your prepared!! Anything can happen out there flip, sink, mermaid siting whatever, my worst fear is fog so make sure you have a compass so you know your bearings and or gps.
