First time on my yak with a flyrod.
Today is the third day I have taken my yak out, and the fist time I fished with it. What a fun day, caught a few lost a couple, over all a great morning. Based on some reading, I though that there might be a learning curve for me due to casting from a seated position. But I didn't have one trouble, never hit the water once. I guess all that time fly casting with a tree up my back paid off. I'm kinda use to needing to cast over head up high. Did the same here, and it worked pretty well for me. Also I have in the past had to side cast a few feet over the water in order to avoid brush. I did that as well with great sucess. I think I am really going to love yak fishing..... |

Congrats on breaking in your yak. Glad to hear that casting is no problem. Watch out fish!

Re: First time on my yak with a flyrod.
Congratulations on your first kayak fishing. Kayak fishing is something I really enjoy and love. You will see, it will get better and better every time you go out fishing. The more and bigger you catch, the more you would want to go out and sit on your yak with a fishing rod.
I've read something a few days back, which is true to any fisherman "Work is every fisherman's curse."
