Re: Beginner and my Tarpon 140
Congrats on the Tarpons and welcome to the kayaking addiction. I prefer breathable waders worn with a belt and pfd.

Re: Beginner and my Tarpon 140
I saw some at Bass Pro in the fly fishing area that looked pretty light weight and breathable. They were $149 with attached booties. Is that the type yu have?

Re: Beginner and my Tarpon 140
Mine are Hodgman though all the mfgs make one, they are the lightweight breathable type. You will want them to be a little loose so when you sit they don't crush anything.

The new NRS Endurance Pants and the Stohlquist Treads are Awesome. Great paddling pants.

Re: Beginner and my Tarpon 140
I am a pretty big fan of waders over paddling pants, I then just use one of west marines emergency floatation belts around the waist just in case you fall in with the waders on!! And hodgman waders seem to last thru a great deal of abuse by me and others! The waders keep you warm and dry which will be really nice if you are out in midwinter in central cal hunting Stripers! Welcome to the board!
