Default Shelter Island 8/19

We fished Shelter Island on Sunday, easy launching, flat and glassy but really humid. Looks almost tropical.

The plan was to make our way to the bait barge and beyond. We made our first stop at the shoals at the end of Shelter Island and never made it any further. Pretty constant catching so there was no need to move. Jackie was the hot stick this morning catching a couple of halibuts and a bunch of SBB (all released).

I kept busy catching a bunch of SBB and one bat ray.

It was getting really toasty out there until the wind kicked up. The boat traffic started to pick up so we called it a day around noon.

Thanks for the report! I hear the water was warm as well. Sounds like the fishing is picking up some. I've got to get back out on the bay soon.
