Catalina callies and bug report
So Ryan and I woke up at 4am and headed for South Shores launch ramp. Glad we took the chance and blew off the weatherman's forecast for rain. The ride over was bit bump but as soon as we found our spot at the island, the fish were ready to chew. Ryan started us off: We tracked down the rest of the crew who were in pretty tight on the front side: We then moved out to the backside of the island, which had a pretty good swell running. A few more friends gettin in tight: Lots of nice fish between 3-6lbs, here are the boyz with a few nice ones, all released after the photo: Decided to hoop a bit as well and got that done with limits for 2 by about 8pm and then we decided to call it a night: ...and then a final shot at the ramp just before we cleaned them: We avoided the rain until 9pm, just as we were cleaning the lobsters. Hit up Carl's Jr on the drive home for one of the best tasting Bacon Western Cheeseburgers in a long time. Total hours up, on the water and clean up 21. But we're having lobster for dinner in a few hours Ed

Awesome Ed! The best of both worlds! Big checkerboards and limits of bugs!
Thanks for sharing! Robert |

Re: Catalina callies and bug report
AWESOME! I bet Ryan will remember that day and night forever, and I'm glad to see you got out with some of the crew to boot. Now all you needed was Short-Bus Dave to join you and you would have been set . Talk to you soon,
Perry
