New to kayaking

Newbie here.

The wife and I purchased a Lifetime Beacon 144 tandem kayak for us to enjoy and to fish. It came with a couple fishing rod holders, a rear motor mount, and a triangle frame in the front that I can't for the life of me figure out what it is for.

Anyways, Just wanted to say hi. I hope to learn a lot since the wife is really into fishing now and it was her idea to get the kayak.
