DP Saturday Report!
It was nice fishing with the boys yesterday. As usual, I stopped for croaker and caught a few, released the small ones, took home four decent ones! In addition to Harley, we also met an old friend, Pablo Joe on the water. He's now retired, and a registered kayak fishing guide. Here's his website. http://pablojoe.com/ A very nice guy! He's a member on this board. This was a first time launch from the boat ramp for us. I have to say, it won't be the last time! All day, as the boys mentioned above, the wind was ripping. Straight down the channel from Baby Beach, it felt so good not to have to battle those winds to get back to the vehicle. Also, at the end of the boat ramp, next to the wall, there's a very nice flat place, clean concrete, that's out of the way of the boat trailers. It's so easy to unload your 'yak there and walk it down the ramp out of traffic. There are also hose bibs available to wash off your boat after fishing. Definitely worth the ten-dollar fee. It's an 800-foot paddle (approximately) to the bait barge. Piece of cake. BTW, we were checked by DFG when we came in on the ramp. Although we got raked baits fishing for the flat ones, we weren't able to bring any to the surface. Maybe next time. Aside from the wind, it was a very comfortable day, and the water along the long breakwall was very clear. I wound up bringing home a total of seven nice croakers, including the four caught by me, and three gifts. Tarpon Guy got the biggest one! I released several small ones. Seaslug contributed two nice ones to the catch! It was a very nice day fishing with the buddies. Looking forward to a repeat performance (sans wind) next week. We may go out on Friday afternoon and also on Saturday. Good possibility we'll launch at the ramp! Company welcome! Piranha
