Fished with Seaslug this morning
There was room for more, but none showed up. After my re-supply vehicle arrived with much needed supplies, I was ready to launch just a few minutes after SS.
First I wanted to visit my haunts for my night ops, and we rang the doorbell loudly, but nobody answered. The wind was offshore and this tide was a strong incoming tide. The conditions were right, except for one. Very windy and a front approaching.
We worked our way down the jetty, then back again on the the other side. I threw spinnerbaits at a crawl and 5 inch swim baits. There was no love on the spinners, but a few tugs and fish on the plastics. I switched over to some 3 inch conrad creature baits slathered in hot sauce and started getting picked up. It was a slow few hours to start off, but SS is an angler from the word go and we didn't let any grass grow under us until we found the fish. After all, it's pre-fish time and had to get in the psyche. We found spotties on various lures and offerings, but none of the sizes we were looking for. We each got some and considering the conditions, I think we did pretty good. Steve it was a pleasure fishing with you again and we have to do it again soon. For myself, it was a run to check the live bait tank and try out half a dozen plastics in anticipation for next Saturday, everything got bit like I had hoped for.
After this tourney, I think it's time for some night-ops
