Float Tubing at Dana Point?
Baytubers is having a tournament this month at DP and the question arose about float tubing in particular. Is it allowed at DP? BTW, Baytubers is sponsoring a kayak fishing tournament on Jan 28th at D.P. Check out the site if your interested. I'll check back for responses. Thanks.

Re: Float Tubing at Dana Point?
Hank,
Wasssuuupppp? Thanks for the heads up on the tourney. I have asked the same question about tubing inside Dana Point, and got a very non-definitive answer at best from the Harbor Patrol who polices the waterway. I could tell you what they said, but I think it would be best if I didn't because the answer I got was very open to interpetation and I would hate to give misleading or incorrect information about it especially with regards to someone elses event. Re: Float Tubing at Dana Point?
i've seen people tubing outside the breakwaters so i'm assuming it is allowed.

Re: Float Tubing at Dana Point?
I've fished there a few times but I can't remember running into any float-tubers. I'll have to do some further investigating. Thanks gents.

Re: Float Tubing at Dana Point?
Is it legal... that depends!
According to the harbor patrol, you're technically not allowed to fish from personal watercraft in DP harbor but they allow it if you don't become a navigational problem for boat traffic. I've seen tubers inside Dana harbor and at Doheny many times. CK |
Re: Float Tubing at Dana Point?
I've never seen a sign anywhere in Dana Point harbor, that says no fishing except on the docks.I fish the inside, on my kayak.
