Barrett lake East County S.D. 5-8-10
 

I got the chance to fish Barrett Lake. It has been a couple of years since freshwater fishing and I was looking forward to it. Fished Barrett some a lot of years ago, love it. Took the Hobie Revo.

Showed up at 4:30 and almost last in line. Meet up with some great kayak friends . I launched from Pig Point and headed to Hauzer arm. Good bite in the morning caught 5 quick fish all around 2lbs. On white spinner bait. I struggled the rest of the day. Sun came up and it shut off for me. Worked a senko and crank bait, frog, worm, jig. Missed some fish, very subtle bites. Great day back to freshwater bassin. Remember how difficult and challenging green bass are.
Fished with CJ, Ric, and Robert chauffeured us around in the boat.
Off the water by 4pm. Slow fishing but a great time.
Thanks to Kevin Stafford and Tenacious Baits because he invited me to fish with him, but couldn't make it. I am going to call Tuesday and get us another day Kevin.
