Hello,
I just purchased a Hobie Odessey 14ft kayak. I live in Okinawa Japan. I am going to take some time to get a feel for my kayak before I start fishing and diving off of it. My question is what GPS system is reccomended with kayaking. I have had the suggestion of Garmin etrex venture HC GPS. Thank you for your input.

Awesome site. very helpful. I read the thread about taking the boat out and making sure I was comfortable on it and getting a feel for the tracking before i bought it. I saw two that I didn't feel comfortable on before I bought it.

My Garmin came in today and it has some nice features on it. The memory is limited but I can work around it. For those of you not in the lower 48 there is some software "modification" you have to do in order for this model to work outside the US. I will post a review when I get more time logged in on it.
